ATA Appreciation Day fun

We had a phenomenal turn out for ATA appreciation day on February 4th at McKey Park. The bounce houses were so much fun and the obstacle courses were pretty tough. Everyone that came out had a great time and enjoyed some great food.

Thank you to everyone who came and participated in ATA appreciation day. We hope that all of those who could not make it will be able to make it to the next one!

Mixed Martial Arts, cage fighting, returns to Valdosta Friday March 2^nd as southeastern fighting champions and Bud Light presents “THROWDOWN IN TITLETOWN!!!” Friday March 2^nd at the Mathis City Auditorium… Come see the top fighters from all over the region inside the steel cage!!! SFC is bringing the biggest MMA event to ever hit Valdosta with over 14 combined pro and amateur MMA fights scheduled!!!

See two top ten fighters in GA go to war in the heavyweight Main event featuring Stephen Eakin vs Kevin Brooks!!! aAo featured is the return of Valdosta’s own Kamrin Naville to the Cage!!! Other fighter’s on the card our S.F.C. welterweight champion Jay Edwards!!! Also Clint Williams who holds the fastest Knockout in GA history of 7 seconds!!! Other local fighters include James Martin, Tim Adams, Channin Williams, Jesse Chestnutt, Chase Rowden, Clay Jackson as they challenge the southeast’s best!

ATA Health and Fitness Day

At the Valdosta Super Regional tournament we had a special guest at the event, Alvin Peyton. Mr. Peyton, Mayor Pro-Temp, on behalf of Mayor John Gayle and the city of Valdosta honored Mr. Church and ATA with a Proclamation. The proclamation proclaimed January 14, 2012 as ATA Health and Fitness Day. This day will forever be remembered as a day of not only health and fitness, but confidence, discipline, personal excellence, and leadership.

We would like to thank Mr. Peyton, Mr. Gayle, and the city of Valdosta for bestowing us with this great honor.

Some of our New Black Belts

When Chief Master Stauffer visited us during the week of the tournament, he also helped out with a black belt testing. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed him being there and helping judge. Chief Master Stauffer awarded all the Black Belts to the new students and incorporated the parents and family into the ceremony. All had a great time.

Our Valdosta Super Regional Tournament was a huge success. Everybody that participated truly helped it run as smoothly as it did.

We would like to say a huge THANKS to you all. We could not have pulled off such a tremendous event without your help.

If we did not thank you personally please know that anything you did to help was greatly appreciated.

We will be having a color belt testing next Thursday, January 26th. Testing will be held during your child’s regular scheduled class times. Please call for exact times (229) 242-1173.

Last day for early registration and the early registration discount is Saturday, January 21st.

Please sign up for testing as soon as possible!

Mrs. Jennifer Powell Earns 4th Degree Black Belt

Mr. Church is very excited to announce that Mrs. Powell has earned her 4th degree Black Belt. This is a major honor to receive your 4th degree Black Belt from the American Tae Kwon Do Association, which is the largest martial art orginization in America.

Mrs. Powell tested for her 4th degree black belt on October 21st in Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Powell has worked very hard with over 10 years of experience. Her dedication to martial arts excellence has been an inspiration to all three academies.

Mr. Griffis tested for his Black Belt on October13th in Valdosta, GA. Mr. Griffis did an excellent job at testing and we are all very proud of him. Mr. Griffis has many years of experience and has put many hours in to Tae Kwon Do to perfect his skill. Congratulations, Mr. Griffis.

Jahng Bahng Clinic – November 19th

We had a great turn out on Saturday, November 19th. Mr. Webb lead the class and was assisted by Mrs. Powell (our newest 4th degree certified instructor), Mrs. Cox and Mr. Cox.

It was an awesome clinic. Mr. Church is very excited for the new weapon for the next testing cycle. We are getting them ready for the Valdosta Super Regional Tournament on January 14th, 2012.
