Color Belt Testing – July 12, 2012
The color belt testing that was held on July 12, 2012 was one of the biggest testings that Performance Martial Arts has hosted in many months. We had over 130 students test for their next rank during this testing.
Mr. Church was very proud of his students. He said that he saw dedication, discipline, and structure in his students. He said that all of the students demonstrated all aspects of a well rounded martial arts student.
It was an honor to have Chief Master Stauffer to help judge this big event.

Candle Light Ceremony – July 13, 2012
Following the Black Belt testing on July 13, 2012 Performance Martial Arts had its first candle light ceremony in many years. The panel of judges from the Black belt testing took part in the ceremony to celebrate ATA and to award the students with their new ranks.
The students listened to a traditional ATA message, then new black belts were given out, then the judges then lit their candles from Chief Master Stuaffer’s candles, and following that the students lit their candles from the other candles.

Performance Martial Arts Academy has produced six state champions for the 2012 season. Chief Instructor, Mitchell Church tells that this "is quite an accomplishment and is a year long process that involves intense training, travel and competition events across the country. This is a point accumulation system and the competitor with the most points from throughout the state is the winner." "These students and in many cases; their parents make significant sacrifices to achieve this goal." Church adds. The results are as follows: Color Belt Division Duane Cunningham won State Champion in Traditional Forms. Madison Swain won State Champion in Sparring. First Degree Black Belt Division Kyle Turner won State Champion in Traditional Weapons Second and Third Degree Black Belt Division Jennifer Hardy won State Champion in Traditional Forms, Traditional Weapons and Sparring Fourth and Fifth Degree Black Belt Division Jennifer Powell won State Champion in Traditional Weapons Mark Webb won State Champion in Traditional Forms, Traditional Weapons, Sparring, Creative Forms, Creative Weapons, Extreme Forms and Extreme Weapons.

Black Belt Testing and Candle Lit Ceremony
We will be having a very important Black Belt testing this coming Friday, July 13th at at 6:00 pm. All ATA students and parents are invited to attend. We have many students who will be testing for their new rank and many others who will be midterming on their way to new ranks.
We will have a guest panel of judges that will include 8th degree black Chief Master Scott Stauffer.
The candle lit ceremony will immediately follow the Black Belt testing. The traditional candle lit ceremony is a unique experience that everyone can enjoy. It demonstrates the tradition and philosophy that has been an integral part of Songahm Taekwondo for over 40 years.
