Worlds – Top Ten – Day 2
What and amazing day for the those in attendance today! Top Ten tournament was simply awe inspiring with the best of the best, from around the world battling in Songahm (traditional) Forms and Sparring. Mr. Webb and Mrs. Powell both started their days of in the forms competitions, both had excellent forms and placed fifth and fourth in the world – remember that is in the world! Wow.
In Sparring Mrs. Powell, Ms. Johnson, and Mr. Vialdores each competed in there divisions Top Ten Sparring. Mrs. Powell Made and excellent showing placing 3rd in the World for her division. While Ms. Brittney Johnson fought to the final rounds of sparring placing 2nd in the World for her respective division. Meanwhile across the floor the quite Mr. Ali Vialdores was battling to the final round, in a awesome showing Mr. Vialdores made his School, Instructor and Family proud, winning the World Championship in Sparring for 1st degree black belts, men 30 – 39. Mr. Vialdores was overwhemled with joy and accomplishemnt and he recieved his World Title Ribbon, and Medalion.
It was back to hotels for a quick change and then to the 2010 Opening Ceremony & Masters Ceremony held in the Verizon Arena. What a show it was, to check out reboadcasts of the show go to www.ataondemand.com

If you are enjoying Taekwondo, then take the next step!? Try competing in a tournament, the next one scheduled for Region 108 (Georgia) is in Atlanta on July 18.? It does not matter if you are a Tiny Tiger, Junior, or heading into your 60’s, if you are in Leadership you should try a competition.? You Can Do it!? and yes it is fun,? actually its a complete blast!? Mr. Church and the Performance Martial Arts Academy’s of Valdosta, Hahira and Moody AFB are looking to show up at Atlanta with 30 students competi.? Hngelp make that a reality, by joining us for the fun!

2009 Songham Taekwondo World Championships - Junior Weapons - T. Sibley Single Ssahng Jeol Bong Freestyle during 3rd Place tie breaker. She had a great time, and can not wait until Atlanta.

Well the team of competitors from the Performance Martial Arts Academy, has been arriving throughout the week. Returning Champions and first time color belt competitors alike are greeted by the awesome sites that await, with the huge banner Eternal Grand Master gracing the outside wall of the Little Rock State Conference Center.
While some fun and a quick trip to the HU Lee Memorial Garden started the morning for the Sibley’s,
other teammates and even Mr. Church caught the early morning flight to Little Rock to attend Today’s schedule, which included Mr. Webbs 4th Degree Black Belt Mid term (Forms, Weapons and Sparring). 
Then on to the Top 10 Weapons Tournament, where Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Powell and Mr. Webb each put on a great performance.
While this was a tuff day for our teammates, none of them offered excuses and Mrs. Powell summed it up perfectly by stating “competing in the Top 10 at Worlds is a Honor in itself”.? Well that was today, and with some much deserved sleep our team will be back with even more determination tomorrow – Top 10 Forms and Sparring Tournaments!? Then off to the Opening Ceremony’s at the Little Rock Alltel Arena, we hope all of you will join in and watch the live broadcast (here on this website), and enjoy the festivities!
